Big Win for Controlling Pesticides in Waterways

On January 7, Baykeeper won an important court victory to protect creeks, rivers, fish and wildlife nationwide from pesticide spraying in waterways. In a landmark decision, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals agreed with Baykeeper that pesticides sprayed into waterways are pollutants and harmful to the environment. The ruling requires the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to apply Clean Water Act oversight and protections to aquatic pesticide spraying. Take Action if You Find a Sick Pelican

In the last month, hundreds of sick and disoriented brown pelicans have been discovered along the West Coast from Southern California to Oregon. Researchers are still trying to determine the exact cause of the widespread and mysterious illness.
